The COSLHS Drama Department performed the hilarious comedy, “The Boarding House” last Friday and Saturday night to full houses. Students acted out the comedy featuring “Harriet” played by Hannah Sochowski, who runs the boarding house, and her crazy house guests that come and go bringing chaos in their wake. After two nights of shows, and months of rehearsals, students enjoyed a well-earned cast party Saturday night.

Our Soldiers did a great job putting on this comedy and filled the room with laughs. Special thanks to our Drama Director, Rachel Mehring, and all of the families and friends that helped build sets, found props and costumes, and took care of the behind the scenes stuff. Also, hats off to our sound and tech crew, Megan Schulte and Daniel Wasson. You can't run a show with out them!

Here is a recap of all the fun!!

The COS Drama Department welcomes you to the Home Sweet Home Boardinghouse, where life is anything but normal!

Miss Harriet runs a clean, cozy home with the help of the perpetually terrified Tweenie, and is accompanied by as zany of a cast of boarders as you are likely to meet. Residents include a poet who practices dying to spark his inspiration, a taxidermist who has a direct line to the spirit world and prefers her men stuffed, a hypochondriac who has every imaginable illness (and loves it!), and also a poor nurse who tries her best to keep up with her free spirited ’artist’ who enjoys painting people’s faces, whether they want to be painted or not.

Finally, the suave and mysterious Dirk Shadow and his sister Veronica have just arrived on the scene to hunt for pirate treasure buried in the basement...or is it really just something left over from dinner? Leave it to the clever and ever-vigilant Dr. Sni-fell to unravel the mystery that will have you laughing from beginning to end!

Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado.
