Young American Patriotic Art Award: Compete for a chance to earn a $15,000 scholarship. Open to all students in grades 9-12. For rules, visit Student entries must be submitted to VFW Auxiliary 6632 by March 31, 2019. You can contact Kathryn Rowold at 618-282-6122 for more information.

Community Bankers Association Scholarship - open to seniors. Sponsored by Buena Vista National Bank. The one paragraph essay deadline is January 25, 2019. See Mrs. Laufer for a copy of the entry form with rules.

Bill of Rights Institute: Students between the ages of 14 & 19 are eligible to enter the essay based contest for a chance to earn a $5000 scholarship. The essay prompt is "What are essential qualities of a citizen in your community in 21st century America?" For more information, go to: Entries are due February 14, 2019.

Golden Apple Scholars: Golden Apple grants scholarships to students who are planning to become a teacher. Eligible students are 2017, 2018 or 2019 graduates who plan to attend or who are attending a participating IL college. For information go to: Apply by March 1, 2019

Concordia University Nebraska offers a minimum of $17,000 per year in scholarships and grants to graduates of Lutheran High Schools.

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: Is offering free tuition for incoming 2019 freshmen and transfer students with a family income of $61,000. For more information
