Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School is hosting the Phil’s Friends Organization on campus January, 26th from 12:30 – 2:30 in our gym. Phil’s Friends is an Illinois based Christian organization that brings hope through the distribution of hand assembled Care Packages to cancer patients and their families. After someone has received a Care Package, they can expect to receive monthly encouragement from the Cards of Hope program. The patients they support receive hand-colored cards, testimonies, devotional letters and other creative and positive notes. These are encouraging reminders that let each patient know they are not alone in their cancer journey. Phil’s Friends provides these care packages to both adults and children.

Phil’s Friends will be giving a presentation to share more about what they do and how this mission is so important to families touched by cancer. This event is open to anyone who would like to hear about and support this mission. After the presentation we will be breaking into teams to color care package boxes, create cards and notes of support, making fleece tie blankets, and filling the Packages of Hope to send out to patients across the country. We will also be collecting a free will offering to support Phil’s Friends. Please make plans to join us in showing that Southern Illinois supports families and sends hope to those who are struggling with cancer.

If you can’t join us but would like to donate some fleece for our blanket project, please call the COSLHS office at 618-853-7300 to arrange a time.
